Markimus of K.
Another solution not yet mentioned that worked for me. I purchased (I think on ebay) a cart extender that gives you enough height to mount the PBC on a model 2 Genesis. godslabrat
You could just get a Model 1 Genesis... Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/224615-genesis-power-base-converter-question/page/2/#findComment-2980560 Share on other sites

IrishNinja
also, OP: DBelectronics @ Sega-16 is close to finishing an alternate power base converter with an FM sound chip within! this sadly won't work on games lacking it over here like Phantasy Star 1, but it's a neat alternative for those that do, and while we're waiting on price/etc all that info should be up soon. Andromeda Stardust
Stone Age Gamer sells this alternative. http://www.stoneagegamer.com/powerbase-mini.html I've got one of these and it's an awesome piece of tech. The shells are not recycled games but newly manufactured. It has a cutout that makes it compatible with Japanese Model 1 Megadrives. The Everdrives and Retrode adapters also use these new shells. Unless the lack of a card slot is a deal breaker to you, get the Powerbase Mini adapter instead. It even works with Super Retro Trio!
