Castlevania The Bloodletting

I was fortunate enough to be at the E3 before the Dreamcast Launch. They had footage of the DC Castlevania and it looked amazing (it was 3-d not like SOTN, think of the Soul Fighter but way way way better), but all the Konami guys there had these sniveling looks on their faces when you'd ask about it and they'd murmur something about "More like Cancel-vania". Such a shame.

I'd take any unreleased Castlevania. As said above by nonner242, especially if it's like Bloodlines. My favorite Castlevania.

Just some sprites and screenshots that look like mock-ups to me. I don't assume it was any further along than that. The DC game seemed to have more work completed.

Yeah I don't think the game was really started beyond some simple mock ups and graphics. I've heard various reports putting the DC game anywhere between 40%-80% finished.

does a version of Dracula X exist for the PC Engine on HuCard? A hacked version of the SCD made into a ROM at least? Even possible?

No, and I doubt it would be possible without having access to the original source. Don't forget that the DUO (which the game was made for) has a lot more RAM in it than a stock PC Engine, which this game more than likely fully takes advantage of.

"Cancelledvania"! :rolling:

Sorry, just thought that was too funny. Speaking of Castlevania games, does a version of Dracula X exist for the PC Engine on HuCard? A hacked version of the SCD made into a ROM at least? Even possible?

There was a few photos going around of a HuCard Rondo of Blood. It was labelled "Special Edition." It turns out it was a fake though.

As for bloodletting. I really wish some code would get discovered. I know it was still very, very pre-alpha but I'd still like to try it even if it crashes every 10 seconds. The character Aeon in Judgement that was used a the plot point to bring all the characters together actually came from this game.
