cimerians
I watched a video earlier and in it the individual brought up a good point: If GameStop can pay money to get in on the development process for exclusive pre-order incentives, what's to say Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, etc., won't? Again, happened, Mortal Kombat. Eventually the dev decides they don't want to limit their profits and everybody gets the "DLC". Just going to have to wait and see if this is any different than the past six years or so. Right, just need to see what happens down the road. Don't mind if its minor stuff or they bundle it all in a GOTY package later (cause I'll always wait for that) but I'd hate for the future to be like: "Hey Bob you should have bought the Wal-Mart version because that side story they have with Aquaman makes it so much better! Too bad dude, its all sold out at Wal-mart and you'll never see it again." That's all we need. Different covers, collectors editions and now possibly different content. It's 90's comics all over again.
+Gemintronic
DLC has always bothered me in any form. No one has figured out unless there is a physical means to obtain it then it's always going to shut someone out. Me? I never let my consoles online. Period. Some people will never pre-order. Gamestop should put their sponsored DLC onto a USB key and sell that with their games.

This has been going on for years now and Gamestop's approach is no different than any other retailer that approaches a publisher to get an exclusive whether that's DLC, steel book packaging, a poster or soundtrack or anything else. Gamers should be mad at the publishers for pushing out games that require additional purchases rather than a retailer that is just looking for a competitive advantage against other retailers doing the same thing. It's never too late to start complaining about something imo. The longer it takes you to get off your butt to do something about it though, the harder it's going to be to make any changes. At this point, the only way publishers are going to think about what they're doing is if they release a AAA title and literally nobody buys it (or torrents it. ) If you're going to complain about it tho, you might as well put your money where you're mouth is and avoid giving them any money. Whether that's with a full boycott, or refusal to buy any DLC and wait until the main game is out for dirt cheap, or secondhand. Doing otherwise just gives them incentive to do even more with the next release.
cimerians
I don't hear anyone complaining merely pointing out some good old smelly bullshit. They can do what they want, I'll just "post-order" their games. (Pirate game then pay for it later).
