Smokeless Joe
I downloaded AspeQt for Mac OS from: http://frederik.hol.st/atari/8-bit/AspeQt4Mac/ It runs fine on the following systems: iMac, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, OS 10.9.4 MacBook, 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS 10.7.5 but it does not run on: Mac mini, 1.66 Intel Core Duo, OS 10.6.8 On the Mac mini, the icon for AspeQt has a circle with a line through it, like this: If I try to run it I get the following message: This is very similar to trying to open a PowerPC program on an Intel Mac, only the error is a little different. Any ideas what's going on? My guess is that AspeQt requires some sort of 64-bit functionality, which the iMac and Macbook have, while the Mac mini is a strictly 32-bit system. Thanks, -Joe Edited August 7, 2014 by Smokeless Joe

Correct. You'll need at least 64-bit userland to run these builds of Aspeqt, unless someone manages to compile 32-bit versions using a 32-bit build of QT.
Smokeless Joe
Well, shucks. On the plus side, the very same Mac mini running Windows XP seems to run AspeQt adequately. But I was really hoping to have a dedicated Mac-Atari setup. -Joe
flashjazzcat
You could have a shot at running the Win32 version under WINE. I had no luck getting Aspeqt to talk to the FTDI driver this way, but your mileage may vary.

Unlike flashjazzcat's situation, the Windows version of AspeQt seems to run BETTER under WINE for me than the native Mac version. So give it a try - what've you got to lose? Thanks, -Joe Hi Joe, I asked Frederick if the binaries are 64 bit, I'll let you know when I get an answer so that there is no doubt about it.
