In my not so humble opinion, he and your boyfriend are both intimidated by your intellectual prowess or innate drive for deeper knowledge. He is putting down the object of your interest as an off-hand way to put you down, though it is nothing against you personally from either of them. Sadly there is only 3 youtube gameplay videos of it on a TI99/4a, and NONE of them have 'speech' unit added, so it does not give the full effect of playing this game.
