GoSub for INTV

OK, all the levels have been designed. I needed to change a level due to a bug about collision detection on walls when the sub's periscope touches it and you turn the other way and it crashes. I don't know what's causing that. Anyway, next task is making the ending. The game is 14k, so I have 1.5k to work with to create two separate endings: one for using the warp and one for completing it starting from level 1.

It looks like the gram pattern for the sideways sub body has somehow gotten too tall.

 

Normally the sub body and tail look like this:

So, when the sub turns sideways, the body graphic overlaps the seaweed and causes a collision.

 

I think the body should be:

is the ending going to show your octopi counter so a picture can be taken to "show off"?

Here's my attempt to fit it into an 8 by 8.

i was so caught up in details that i didnt realize i could do this. I have made graphics for several games but none with such a pixel limitation. Lesson learned. you have a LOT of experience in this department. :) hopefully i can learn to be less ocd about the details be able to be more creative with the pixel limitations. i am not trying to step on your toes catsfolly or steal your work but a suggestion/idea, you could use a bigger crossbones with your smaller skull as well.

slowest day ever here on atariage. i was bored and my skull needed his body to truly feel complete. cant decide which middle view would be better in a game
