Man, that's a surprise! aren't they union workers in that factory with pension and medical benefits? How could they screw that up?

I guess $0.50 a day doesn't get you the quality employee it once did...

More like the overall competency of the company. I've known plenty of overpaid union and non-union types from education, factory assembly, to auto manufacturing, to sales/customer service, to industrial "engineers" that have done and continue to do shit work. At all pay scales.

ok i see this and thinkin why buy a flashback then? ok i still have not been to a store to physically see these so im gonna ask stupid question. can u buy spare controllers for the flashback? do they simply plug in and out like an intv2 or hard wired like brown consoles? if this allows me to simply buy a couple spare controllers and plug into aintv 2 i think that would be the route for me?.......scot

let me clarify. i think ive been told button use on flashbacks side buttons r soft touch and VERY improved on? i now have carpatunel and some games i use the side buttons hard i have a hard time with. your adapter if thats true would be a godsend for my tired hands!......scot

You buy the Flashback to get the spare controllers, and with Nurmix adapters they plug into an Intv 2 as replacement controllers. They work great and the side buttons are soft on the hands and more responsive than the controllers made for the Intelliviison and Intelliviion 2.

I think you buy the Flashback for its controllers, and as far as I know, you can't just buy extra controllers for the Flashback!

awesome, so now i ask how long is this flashback thing gonna be in existance for if no offer of extra parts? this a one yr pony or what? do i need to start hoarding or is this gonna be around for a while? AND fromyer response i assume the controllers ARE plug and play?.........scot

I suspect they are going to sell thousands of these and that they will be available as long as people buy them. I also expect the value to stay flat or decrease.

No, the controllers are not plug and play just by themselves into a TV.

They work for your Flashback system or can be used with the adapters to play on an an Intellivision 2 system. They are just more responsive controllers than the original INTV 2 ones.

To throw my two cents in here... A mass market product like this (hundreds of thousands units produced) is not something to hoard/collect with the idea that you'll sell it for a profit at a later date or that there will be some type of increase in demand. These are more or less annual products (assuming each new iteration sells) and, as such, the present model usually becomes "obsolete" and unattractive as a purchase when the new one becomes available.

As for replacement controllers, AtGames usually does sell them, though I'm not sure what the timetable or even expectation is for the Intellivision and ColecoVision products. Even with the excellent controller adapters on the Intellivision side to use them on a real Intellivision II, if you're interested in controller replacements, you're probably better off waiting to see if there's a 2015 version that is cross-compatible by default rather than trying to buy up a bunch of the present iteration. As was stated, worst case, the present Intellivision Flashback should remain in the various new and used sales channels for some time.

i wasnt gonna hoard it to make money on sellin units. i simply meant to have a supply of controllers to use with my original intellivisions. THATS whats valuable to me. SOOOOOOO u have my ear now:) u r gonna improve upon flashback then and make it so it can be used as direct improvement for us old school dudes who like the old consoles? if thats the case im onboard with a little patience. this is awesome. wish someone would have done this yrs ago. now complete overlay sets for anything intellivision ever made is all i need to be in collectors heaven! oh and mass produced spikers, wrestling etc:)...........THANX!
