Ray Carlsen's new Amiga power supplies

Recommended Posts

In addition to his power supplies for C64s, C128s, Plus/4s, and VIC-20CRs, Ray Carlsen is now producing power supplies for the Amiga 500, Amiga 600, and Amiga 1200 (and will power the CMD hard drive for the above-named Commodores, too). His basic model is $80, not including shipping. See

http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/cbm/universal_ps/Amiga%20PS.jpg

He has even built a p.s. that will power an Amiga and a sidecar addition, like an A590 hard drive. See

http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/cbm/universal_ps/AMIGA%20CUSTOM%20PS.jpg

Since these p.s.'s are made one at a time, ask Ray for at rcarlsen(at)tds.net for their availability.

You're welcome Robert. I have 2 of these power supplies now for my 64/128 and will probably pick up the Amiga version at some point as well. Have had no issues with them. The 64/128 supply has actually become smaller in size since purchasing my first one from him ;)

My interest is piqued. I do not need one for a computer but one for multiple drives (1581 and 1541-II.) I have just been using an AT power supply with a cable to connect to the 3.5" drive power connectors -- it works but is rather unwieldly.

They cost a bit, but it's probably the last power supply you'll need. Plus he stands by his products. The supplies I have are over 5 amps. That's more than the original 128 US power supply provided. I'm not sure what the ratings are for the ones that power multiple devices at once.

Ray can make a custom power supply for you. Just send him an e-mail and tell him what your needs are.

Oh, yeah, I am all about quality. I have this 128 power supply (I cannot recall the name of it) but after all these years it is still running strong. I am considering re-capping it just for good measure.

Sweet. Will do, thanks.

Do you mean an external power supply that outputs 5VDC and 9VAC for the C128, and 5VDC and 12VDC for the Amiga 500/600/1200?
