Starf
Hi all, I dug out some of my old duplicate carts from the closet and found a couple that need a good cleaning. I went through five cartridges with Brasso and they all worked fine but this Super Mario 3 cart would not boot up. I vigorously cleaned the cartridge but it still wouldn't load. My NES was recently cleaned and the 72-pin replaced. I opened the cart up but nothing seemed wrong, then again, I have little to no hardware knowledge of boards. Could there be some circuitry problem? Thanks
icemanxp300
I would not use brasso on cart pins personally unless they were heavily corroded/oxidized. If you do you should protect them w/an anti-oxidizing spray msuch as deoxit gold. As far as the game probably board related, out of my realm. TheGameCollector
I usually just clean my games with rubbing alcohol but one of my games wouldn't work until I used a pencil eraser on it. Also I've had some I just couldn't get to boot unless I put it in my toploader, while others more easily worked in my frontloader. Meanwhile there are some games I have that boot up just fine every time I put them in either system.
