freewheel Posted December 20, 2014 Share Posted December 20, 2014 Just went back and checked the newsletter that went out 12/1 and it said this: IMPORTANT NOTE: U.S. orders will be shipped by USPS Priority by December 20 and will arrive by December 24. FREE SHIPPING is for U.S. addresses only. So all CyberMonday orders should ship by today. When I ordered, the website did not charge me a dime for shipping and I'm in Canada. I'm expecting them to honour this given that it's what the webstore processed, but we'll see what happens. I wasn't trying to exploit anything, it's just how the transaction was handled. My order showed overlays shipping to me and a flashback shipping to you. But I was only charged for the overlays. I sent a few e-mails but they never responded to them and then the site was taken down. I sent another e-mail to check if they had my order and that one came back that everything was ok. So yesterday I get a message on my cell from Keith telling me he needed to verify my order. I'm guessing he wants to know if I really wanted a flashback. Update: I just had an e-mail from Keith. He thought I had ordered a flashback and was going to send it to me. As much as I would like another flashback, I let him know I only ordered and paid for the overlays. I'd naively think that he'd have peons to do this sort of stuff for him, but he does seem very "hands on". I noticed this at CGE - he looked exhausted by the time I was getting my sleeve done up and signed, but he was still sitting there, folding up cardboard. He had already responded to my inquiries via e-mail, but he was sorting out all outstanding problems. It seems to me that his "customer database" and "ordering logistics" are handled manually (which is what you expect from a "Mom 'n Pop" operation like his), so that any confusion needs to be sorted out personally. In my case, I had an old account from which I ordered back when I was living in Florida, and I used the "DZ-Jay" alias, and now my order was placed with the same account using my real name and my new address in North Carolina. This is certainly something that could trip up a human handling orders manually. My recommendation is to keep calm and give the man the benefit of the doubt that it will all work out in the end. Maybe I'm just a lot more patient than the average person, but I don't order things via mail if I'm expecting quick turnaround. That's what retail stores are for. I guess it helps that a lot of what I order online is coming from Hong Kong or Japan, and I see no point in paying for rush shipping for hobby stuff, so 2-4 months is the average delivery time. Also, I'm loving the fact that clearly demand was greater than expected. Bodes well for the future. I'd love to see Keith & Co. branch out into quality overlay reproductions for every single game, if possible - even if they're not on the FB.
