Flashback Overlays: Intellivision Productions & Psycho Stormtrooper

To be honest: I doubt that the rush to the overlays was that much. When I ordered I got the order ID 20xx and I think its counting from the very beginning. Lets say 1000 sets were ordered, and I really doubt that we are talking about such a high number, so it shouldnt be so hard to answer all requests.

Lets face the truth: The shop-update came to the worsed imaginable time. No one can look at his account anymore and so everyone wonders what happens. In fact it is definitely a fault of the seller, not the buyer and as sopo pointed out: Even if you would like to cancel your order, you wont get the chance at the moment, because many people just dont get responses to their questions.

Sorry man, but its definitely too easy to say "they will come out and blaaa". They will for sure, but it doesnt means that the complainments here are not justified.

I hate to see so much negative attention put on this. It's really discouraging to me. We are a pretty small market, it is amazing that anybody is doing anything for this platform at all. I'm sorry some people are so upset about this, but really this should be nothing more than a minor annoyance at most. Just cancel through Paypal. Be done with this. If you miss out you miss out, if they get caught up, buy it again. With kind of melodramatic crap why would anyone what to release anything. Things will go wrong and when they do we are ready to burn people at the stake.

We eat our own here in the Intellivision Forum. Not a very warm place for developers to spend time or make products. It's Christmas guys, people get busy, Geez! Do we really need to keep storming the castle with a torch?

Please leave the tying knots in your panties for the professionals like Rev and Cmart.

This has gone beyond stupid...

Oh lord please DON'T DO THAT!!! That causes MUCH MORE problems for the seller than anything else! Anybody who wants an refund should ask and wait, even if its annoying.

Oh please stop being melodramatic  No warm place for developers? Seriosly`? Every game gets celebrated like a new GTA from many guys, doesnt matters how bad it is and how many bugs it has and EVERY time something sucks and people are complaining shining knights like you are coming and protecting the poor guys from every criticism. I am SO SICK of it, honestly. I mean I do agree that this is not armageddon and all problems get solved, but god damn, the seller doesnt make the products just for enjoying the buyers, they are SELLING stuff to make profit and so its no crime to complain about situations like this one.

I think you might be onto a new game idea there...

...It's been a long, bleak Christmas and the Intellivision fan base is starving for lack of Homebrews. Some are starting to eat....our own! In a desperate last ditch effort, a small band of brave characters (some gamers, some collectors, some resellers, and a wizard) are preparing to siege the Developer castle. Torches in hand and panties in knots, the quest begins!

With all the choices and availability, Nobody should be hungry for homebrews! haha

What's available right now or was in the latter quarter of 2014?

Match 5

Super Pro Tennis

Ms. Night Stalker

Smurfy Sydney Rescue

Kroz

Paddle (disc) party game

DK Arcade (ROM at least)

That Zaxxon-like demo

...quite a few homebrews I'd say!

To make it more clear: Your senseless spam makes it much harder for anybody to find a useful information what to do and it doesnt calm down anything, its really just disgusting. If you are happy its totally fine. But it shows a huge lack of empathy to tell others what to do if they are not satisfied as you are. So thanks for the participation and the stupid spam again. Its a pleasure everytime to find such competent and helpful answers!

Of course I am not talking to everyone.

I'm not really worried, but I will point out that the update was sent on the 23rd and it says:

If you placed an order for the Overlays Pack, those have not shipped yet.We sincerely apologize. We were overwhelmed with orders and there only 2 of us here and we wanted to prioritize getting the Flashbacks out the door. We are preparing the Overlay Packs for shipping as we speak and they will go out at the end of this week, early next week. We are very sorry they could not make it into your Christmas stocking. Please forgive us! As a reminder, shipping cost was free on this product.

I added the bold text above. That means that the overlays should have shipped by now per their own update. If that isn't true then it is time for another update. I won't be cancelling because I believe this will get worked out, but if people want to complain, I think that is natural in this situation especially since it seems you can't contact them to cancel or get info.

Well, the important thing is that we remain completely serious all the time and at all costs. Humor is strictly forbidden in online public forums.

I suppose it's possible that I'm just not that funny ;-)

Well, I guess such rapid sales indicate two things:

- that the INTVFB has sold well, and we'll get an FB2,

- that the FB2 should probably be sold with more overlays included, and a better instructions manual.

You can't necessarily draw those conclusions, but there should be additional ColecoVision- and Intellivision-related physical and digital products.

What I was saying is we sometimes whine too much.

Agreed, I'm often surprised at how quickly some folks go to Defcon 5.... I guess I just have other things to worry about more but that's just me.

I'm not discounting the right of people to express concern that they haven't received what they've paid for in a timely fashion, but maybe it's just that it takes longer for things to get shipped to Canada so I'm used to it. :)

I truly hope they're just overwhelmed with orders because as others have said, that hopefully will lead to other products being released.

Happy New Year to all. Maybe Rev and I need to have a new epic contest to distract folks....

Sorry man, but its definitely too easy to say "they will come out and blaaa". They will for sure, but it doesnt means that the complainments here are not justified.

Comments and a few complaints are justified. The near-daily updates from some posters as to exactly which email addresses they've sent to and what exact responses they've received are a bit much. It won't be long before we approach that one recent thread where a certain someone was posting near-hourly bitch sessions about how "everyone else has received their game but I haven't received mine, omg whine crisis!".

I just don't understand what people think they're going to accomplish by providing excruciating details on their one-sided conversations with Keith and Co. Asking if anyone else has heard anything? Absolutely makes sense. But seeing the form-letter response and continuing to remind everyone that THEY haven't heard about THEIR order? Yeah, we get it. Beyond "naming and shaming", what possible purpose does the complaining serve? Y'all think Keith just ignores his inbox but refreshes the AA forums every hour?

They sold well over 1000 sets on the first day. I heard this from a VERY reliable source.

Holy shit, seriously? This just goes to show how obvious it is that some people here haven't run a small business before. 1000 orders on day one for a one or two person crew is insane, when you add in the fact that their webstore basically puked and had to be entirely re-done on the spot, plus additional orders throughout the month. They're likely sitting at double or triple that number by now. Which means hundreds upon hundreds of generic status emails as well, plus dealing with probably several hundred individual inquiries (multiplied by the fact that some people seem to have sent a dozen or more each, according to their postings here).

Given that it's the holiday season, how many of you in the past month have a) re-built your webstore from the ground up, b) dealt with orders for several thousand units of a new product, as well as c) individually responded to several hundreds emails on top of everything else?
