omegadot
Saw this for 10 bucks at the store so I picked it up on the Wii. I really don't mind the flick-to-grenade mechanic so I'm enjoying it a lot.
Austin
I think you may be able to get away from the flick grenade mechanic by using a classic controller.
omegadot
A review had said that was not supported. I haven't tested it, though. The sideways mote was fine by me. I'm sure I'll experiment and post back if it does work.
Rick Dangerous
I think I picked this up a while back but haven't got around to playing it. There were a lot of "arcade classics" released on the Wii, especially light gun games, which the Wii Mote lent itself to..

Definitely check out: Ghost Squad, Sin & Punishment and House of the Dead Overkill

Definitely check out: Ghost Squad, Sin & Punishment and House of the Dead Overkill I haven't checked out Overkill yet but I did get the 2/3 remake and had a great time. I need a better shell for my mote, though.

omegadot
Actually, I think a GC controller is supported for more "conventional" control. I'll have to try that. My wife and I played through MS6 the other night and had a blast. Arcade games in free-play tend to lose some of the tension of a real standup with my precious quarters on the line but I'm finding these games have enough fun content that they ride that out pretty well. Atariboy
Actually, I think a GC controller is supported for more "conventional" control. It is, but the d-pad isn't supported. At least they later got SNK Arcade Classics right with proper controller support and performance that actually surpassed the PS2 version of the title. But as far as I'm concerned, regardless of the fact that I've never played the Wii build of Metal Slug Anthology, this situation alone elevates the PS2 version of the Metal Slug Anthology to the top spot. My attention span on these sort of games is quite short, so I try to limit myself to 2-3 virtual credits... ha!

Nutsy Doodleheimer
Awesome game and I enjoy the Metal Slug series. One of my favorite compilation games.
Bixler
I wish I could find this for a decent price. Lowest I've come across is $25 and that deal passed me quicker than I could blink.
Cobra Kai
I would recommend the PS2 version instead. Better standard controller, plus access to really cheap joysticks if you want that.

I'll check it out, thanks for the heads up. I actually managed to nab the disc in great shape for $10, but if I come across the PS2 version for cheap I'll pick it up for the better control scheme.
