bbking67
Personally I think the 800, 800XL, 1200XL and 130XE are the cream of the crop. I personally found the build quality of the XEGS to be an all time low for Atari and the machine doesn't really offer any real expansion options. they seem to go for a fair amount of money too... I think more folks should just pass. Maybe get a nice socketed 800XL (andf mod it) or a stock 130XE and you have a better machine in every way. +David_P
I'm still plotting to someday run an XEGS as a headless server. Just because.
walter_J64bit
I like the XEGS, I do wish it had better A/V and RAM upgrades.
gilsaluki
I love my upgraded XEGS. Pastels are all the rage, man. Get wit it, dudes.

Is all your stuff NTSC? Do you have anything PAL? (not necessarily an XEGS)
Paul Westphal
I was thinking about making a pal 600xl. I will add a pal Gtia and antic. We will see what results I get, because the modulator is still NTSC.
AtariGeezer
I already have 2 XEGS', but do have 2 more 800XL's on the way. Paid less than $50 each and each have a rare cart included Will post pics in the ebay thread soon...
Shawn Jefferson
Just got a XEGS package actually, box is a little beat up, but everything works.
+Larry
I love my upgraded XEGS. Pastels are all the rage, man. Get wit it, dudes. Yes, my sentiments, exactly -- you gotta' love those pastel buttons! Actually a small can of spray paint might be a really good add-on gift for the XEGS... -Larry
+MrFish
Classic Game Room finally did a short review for the XEGS -- and also has some separate game reviews up.: XEGS Review
Paul Westphal
Is all your stuff NTSC? Do you have anything PAL? (not necessarily an XEGS) I'm going to put a pal Antic and Gtia in one of my 600xl's with composite, and see what results I get after I run a demo on my multi region TV. I always find posts about classic computers having poor build quality amusing. What are these 30 years old? The three in my collection work fine. The XEGS is a great Atari for people who do not want to mod their machines. The composite out works with very modern televisions without modification or RF interference. The built in game and included gun were fun. I've probably bought my last Atari hardware (though I would like an 800 plus an 810 on the cheap), and I do not often play these days, but there will always be an XEGS with a Wico stick and a Maxflash cart plugged waiting to play with me.
