forrestsmith
Wanted to rewire my Flashback controllers to use on my Sears Video Arcade. Looked at the wiring diagrams on page 39 of the Flashback thread and got confused, I must be slow. Could anybody tell me what order the wires need to be in on the Flashback controller board itself? Thanks for your help. Forrest

+intvsteve
Who knows what that gizmo for part #13 is called? You know, that part with the springy contacts that the matrix presses against?

+nurmix
Who knows what that gizmo for part #13 is called? You know, that part with the springy contacts that the matrix presses against? I refer to that as a pressure pin connector or pressure pin contacts - although I don't think that's actually what it's called.

All the information is in that thread, but yeah, it may be a little confusing. I haven't actually rewired a Flashback controller 'permanently' yet, but let me sort through my notes and I'll post something soon showing which wires need to be changed to which positions on the small daughter board inside the Flashback controller to make it a 'permanent' standard controller... unless someone here beats me to it. I'll beat you to it Paul. To rewire your flashback controller start where it says pin 1 on the controller circuit card. The original color order is Brown, Red, Pink/Tan, Yellow, White, Gray, Black, Blue, Green. The "fixed" color order should be Blue, Yellow, Brown, White, Black, Gray, Pink/Tan, Green, Red. I haven't tried this myself but I gave this info to Forrest and he said his controller worked good. If there was some demand I would think about selling modded controllers or doing a mod service but I think shipping would cost too much. Let me know if any of you have success with this mod.
