32k Memory Diagnostic Question

I apologize in advance if this is somewhere else on the forum already.

 

I was using CorComp Inc. Peripherial Diagnostic Module 1985 to test a 32k memory expansion.

 

There are two options: 1.) Memory Bit Check 2.) Memory Retention Check

 

The result is the same however:

 

1 & 2.)

Error found at Address >2000

Value written >2000

Value read >2040

Press "Proceed" to Continue

 

The only difference between the two seems to be that when I try the second option their is a countdown from 20.

 

SIZE in XB reveals the full 24k in program memory.

 

Question: What does this mean? Is it fixable?

>2000 is the area in memory where XB would load Assembly routines, and is totally separate from the 24K area that is used for XB programs. It might be a bad memory chip for that space (most likely cause)--so it should be relatively easy to repair.

I was hoping you would say just push function 2!

 

Oh well I appreciate the help. I'll maybe work on it once I get my ti online... Just waiting on a couple parts, the. I can start another project.
