I bet all those boxed media variant boulder dashes took you 15 years to aquire. I can't remember the last time I've seen a box pop up been years. You're probably the only in the world 🌍 that has this media variant boxed set museum pieces. It's good to not follow the 🐑 off the cliffs edge.

One of the rarest video games in existence.

Definitely rare but not one of the rarest in existence by any stretch.  If it was then Rhod wouldn't have four copies, regardless of how long he's been collecting.  The rarest computer games in existence are all titles from small publishers that hardly anyone has ever heard of, so no one bothers looking for them in the first place.

The First Star releases are all hard to come by (especially on cartridge) but I would say Boulder Dash is one of the more commonly found of the bunch, along with Astro Chase.  It's unquestionably the one in the highest demand though.

Correct, popular title rare enough. Heck even the limited 200 release homebrew sold for over 1,000. Rhod probably bought a couple boxed copies from atari8bitcarts when he was selling. I considered him to have the best collection for the Atari computers. It probably took rhod over 10 years to get all these boxed, I appreciate the effort involved to get these.

Is this game for the Atari or Apple?

Thanks in advance!

I believe it's for apple, the only weakly reader I have that doesn't have an Atari sticker. If you're looking for undumped Atari I have a whole bookshelf that possible has some of that in there. If there's a way your welcome to dump anything in my collection.

Many thanks for the offer, that would be fantastic!

Actually, I saw a number of unarchived cassettes in your collection. Would you be able to create .wav files out of them so they could be dumped? There are tape specialists who could offer you guidance if needed.

I would probably just ship them off to you or someone else that knows how to do it.

I have about 15 to 20 games that are box only so no guarantees. I'll get more pictures up of cassettes and disks and you can tell me if you don't have it.

A couple sealed PS2 games I picked up on craigslist years ago. The brother was selling his brothers video game collection to pay for bills while he was in prison. Bought a bunch of sealed and unsealed games from him.

In 2010 at a video game convention in Vegas I remember this weird guy staring at me at the entrance with a basketball referee shirt on. Also a guy came strolling down the aisle dressed to the nines in suit and 👔. I didn't think anyone dressed up like that to go to a gaming convention. I thought he was the president of the United States.

Anyways year's later after reading some thread's here I found out it was Walter Day and Billy Mitchell. It looks like youtubies have replaced these guys at conventions now.

I also have a rarity 10 scary real hiking story that happened to my wife and I while hiking in western Pennsylvania. If I was a desert rat I would get a dune buggy, eye patch, document petroglyphs, explore mountain areas.

Deets! I love rarity 10 stories. (One of the podcasts I regularly listen to is a rarity 10 podcast!).

Around 2007 we took our kids to Idlewild which is a kids amusement park a little over an hour from Pittsburgh in a mountain area. I asked some of the Park employees if there were black bears 🐻 in the area . They said some of the landowners had trail cams on their property and have some pics of 400 pound bears.

We left the park around 6pm and I wanted to do a hike. There's a couple quaint small towns. I saw a small park with a trail leading into mountain area. We were about 15 minutes into the hike which for us would be 1 mile in and we heard this huff sound. My wife and I looked at each other but kept going a few more feet and heard another very loud pronounced huff. We stopped in our tracks and then heard a loud high pitched whistle that lasted for 30 seconds. It wasn't mechanical and we were both amazed and scared at the same time. The lung capacity to do this whistle sound had to be something huge . Don't know any known animal that makes a high pitch whistle. After the whistle sound coon dogs started about a quarter mile or so away. My Wife and I immediately turned back around on the trail, we had our kids in a double jogging stroller. I told her if something comes out of the woods I would stay behind to try and slow the thing down while she gets the kids out of there. I was looking for branches to pick up on the way back out. Ran into a couple hiking and warned them about the huff sound and said it might be a bear. Didn't tell them about the high pitched whistle so I know it wasn't a 🐻. Wish I would have recorded it but I had a flipflop phone at the time and it happened so fast. This happened around ligonier pa in Westmoreland county. Someday I want to go back and hike that trail and maybe talk with someone that lives out there about it.

Never told the story publicly until now but my wife and I talk about it periodically. I think it was territorial and we got the point and turned around right after the 30 second whistle.
