I really liked the 6-switch models...

Not sure why they decided to put the difficulty switches away in the later models... I thought more buttons on the front made it look cooler. The only reason I thought of is cause most switches would be up most of the time when you're playing a game except for the two difficulty switches if you're someone who often plays on BB like me, so it wasn't aesthetically pleasing to the designers at Atari.

The consoles with the hidden difficulty switches have only 1 circuit board. The units prior to that have 2. It was all about cost-cutting and making more profit.

Also remember the PCB is made much narrower internally by using four switches. Even if the 4-switch Atari is the same width as a 6-switch, it is much smaller PCB inside and lighter overall. The only shielding is over the RF unit and the chips.

My vote goes for Junior! It's the only model I knew back then, when I got in touch with atari. I like the small design.

Meanwhile I also own more models and a six switch model makes the most sense and is my secret vote number two 😃

i just got my first heavy sixer, a Sears. It's amazing. I have a couple light sixers, a 4 switch, a vader. The picture quality and build quality of the heavy is on another level. The switches feel great. I'm keeping it RF. I see what all the fuss is about. WOW!

I have a Sears Heavy Sixer, which I think has a Sunnyvale sticker on the bottom of it if I remember correctly. I even got the matching stand with the plastic cover. I dig it. It's a little different, but still a heavy sixer.

Overall I would say any 6 switch model would make me happy, just nice to have something a little rarer.
