Because we have nothing better to do, Pie Factory Podcast is back with episode 77. In this super special episode of Pie Factory Podcast, Sean and Jim discuss the latest retro gaming news (which is not news anymore because post production takes such a long time!), but then eschew the usual format to discuss their adventures on two wheels. A super special guest helps out as well!

Well, it's Monday, and as such we cannot come up with a creative announcement for episode 79. So here it is. Episode 79. Millipede and Liberator. Listen to the podcast. Trade it with friends. Post a link in your next bathroom graffiti.

Aand my draft disappeared.

I got to enjoy Liberator in it's cab at Paradise Arcade. Initially I couldn't make sense of it in MAME, but with the real controls, it made sense. A good, challenging game.

Also, I'm one of the few that prefers Millipede over Centipede. They added much more depth to Centipede. There's satisfaction in hitting the DDT bombs(the game's red barrels). Lots of creepy crawlies to attack, and the "waves" adds even more depth. There's all sorts of stuff to shoot at in the game. This should have been on the 7800.

And yes, Juno First belongs in the hall of fame. Checkbook font, great Williams-like sound effects, great gameplay. There's a handful of games like this, but all the meta around it makes it the best of them all.

We at Pie Factory Podcast like to record episodes. We like it so much, we've done it more than 80 times. We hope that you'll add this episode about "Q" games to your podcast queue. (See what I did there?)

How do Jim and Sean spend their three-day weekend near the end of summer? By servicing you, our friends, the listeners, with a brand new episode! This time we wax philosophical about another movie game and another Gottlieb game. We hope you’re not…alienated by this episode, but we guarantee you some kind of…reaction.

Less than a week after our previous release, we have a new episode out. There's a reason we kind of rushed this one out: we strayed from the usual topic of arcade gaming to recognize National Suicide Prevention Month. We dedicated this episode to addressing not just suicide prevention but topics such as depression and other mental issues. We both take this topic very seriously. Even if you don't normally listen to Pie Factory - or if you do normally listen but skip the off-topic episodes - we ask that you please give this episode a listen.

Also, unlike most of our episodes, this episode is not censored at all. We normally don't frequently throw out choice Anglo-Saxon words in the first place, but this time, we felt that it would lessen the impact of what we're trying to get out if we bleeped unpleasant words when trying to get across what we want people to understand.

(The original posting on iTunes for some reason didn't have the "EXPLICIT" mark, despite the file being tagged as such. We've re-tagged it and tried another go at it, and if iTunes still doesn't have the "EXPLICIT" tag on there when they refresh, we'll replace it with a bleeped version, but still make the uncensored version available. The reason we may go through this trouble is that this is one of only two uncensored episodes out of 83+ that we've done, and the only way we'e found to definitely put the "explicit" marker on the one episode is to mark the entire podcast as "explicit," which we don't want to do. And Apple apparently has a zero-tolerance policy on this. :/ )

Anyway, here's the link:

At long last, Sean and Jim have returned with episode 85 of their ambivalently named downloadable quasi-radio show, this time investigating a couple of outer space themed games in which somehow explosions are still audible in a vacuum. Tell your friends!

Who says Friday is black? We at Pie Factory Podcast say it's, uhhh....black also. So yeah. What does that have to do with episode 86? We, uhmmm...haven't the foggiest idea. Just listen.

With episode 87, Jim and Sean decided to end 2018 on a...well, let's face it...weird note. I mean, come on! Who's ever HEARD of these games?! Well...SOMEBODY must have, or else there wouldn't be a podcast talking about them! Podcasts just don't talk about games that don't exist! (or do they?) Regardless, this certainly is a podcast episode, and we hope you will all agree.

I do remember playing Sovalu (sp? No, not going to go on the Internet to find the correct spelling. Really, I have better things to do. That's getting into ADD territory. Did you get the gist of the game name even though I might not score 100% on the Namco Video Game Name Spelling Contest? Good. Billy, grade 2 from Kane, Il will get the trophy. I don't need one). in the arcades. I enjoyed it, even though I'm not into anything typically on-rails. It was the earliest I can imagine a 2D to 3D reboot/sequel.

Sadly, MAME crashes & burns on it for me as well. Too bad since it has that cool Cylon voice.

Episode 88 features falling blocks discussed by these falling blockheads: what could possibly be more fitting? In this landmark 2019 comeback, join Sean and Jim as they talk about not Ferg. That's right, Ferg will not be mentioned in this episode. Listen to find out why!

I love this podcast, at least as much if not more than the Atari 7800 Homebrew Podcast. Dauber, you've got a great voice and presence and are very well-spoken, and you've got great chemistry with Jim. You guys have kept me company on lots of bike rides and jogs (and also on some long and cold walks back from bars ;) ).

It is the 90th episode, and there is time for...Pie Factory Podcast.

So, here we are: ninety episodes in. Fun fact: if you listen to an episode of Pie Factory Podcast every day for ninety days, it will take close to three months to complete. While you're at it, play a couple of rounds of Dark Ages rugby, but don't fall under a rock.

So episode 91 was released a couple of days ago. In this off-topic episode, Jim and Sean reminisce about life with their favorite 16-bit computers.
