+atari2600land
Here is my second-ever hack. It's a hack of Ms. Pac-Man. What I did was create four all-new levels. I call it "Pac-Man 2." Please download it and play it and tell me what you think. (or if there's any bugs.) Can you beat all four levels? pacman22.bin 4
Arenafoot
Here is my second-ever hack. It's a hack of Ms. Pac-Man. What I did was create four all-new levels. I call it "Pac-Man 2." Please download it and play it and tell me what you think. (or if there's any bugs.) Can you beat all four levels? I read this title and thought....cool someone ported the Entex Pac-Man 2 handheld to the VCS..... That 1st level is hard, especially the interior portion of the maze. Bugs: The fruit enters the game, THRU the wall? and exits THRU the wall too. The red monster gets caught in some type of "loop", he goes around and around in circles (i saw this twice after playing it for the first time) No exit tunnels on the first maze? +atari2600land
Those are known bugs.At first I would have liked to change the way the fruit goes through the maze, but now it gives a sense of mystery knowing where the fruit is going to go next. The red monster loop can happen to any of the four monsters, especially in level 2. And yes, there are no exit tunnels (in the entire game!)

+atari2600land
Thanks for letting me know. I changed the level layout around so that doesn't happen. Let me know if any other problems pop up. pacman2l.bin
TrekMD
Is the game supposed to start at the orange always or can one choose to start at the cherries? They do appear when you press select but the game always seems to start at the orange level. Cool hack, btw.
+atari2600land
Sorry, my bad. I made it start at the wrong level. Here it starts at level 1. pacman2m.bin
+atari2600land
I changed level 1. Let me know if you encounter any bugs. pacman2o.bin
Arenafoot
I changed level 1. Let me know if you encounter any bugs. better, but if you eat all 4 ghost (i did it on level 3) the eyes don't know how to get back home - they get caught in a loop. I actually made it to level 5 this time!
+atari2600land
I doubt the enemy AI could be changed so it goes to the box after getting eaten. And if so, I'm not the guy who could do it.
TrekMD
I like the change to Level 1. This is fun to play.
+atari2600land
In order to make it more true to the first Pac-Man, I added the opening song, the horrible off-key 4-note one from the 2600 version. I also made the Pac-Man sprite more like it. I noticed the screen jumps sometimes when all four ghosts are trying to make it home. I wonder if there's a way to fix that. I can remove the horrid intro song if you prefer. pacman2p.bin
TrekMD
Hmm, in all honestly, can't say I like either change.
+atari2600land
OK. I'll put it back to version "o" then.
TrekMD
You don't have to change it on my account. It's your project. I can always play version "o." I know you're trying to make it more of a direct sequel to Atari's Pac-Man.
Arenafoot
Hmm, i all honestly, can't say I like either change. I'd agree......... You don't have to change it on my account. It's your project. I can always play version "o." I know you're trying to make it more of a direct sequel to Atari's Pac-Man. and I agree with this too. Make the changes you'd like - at least we still have the other versions to play. "To each is his own".
TrekMD
I have an idea, how about creating your own start up tune?
+atari2600land
That's a good idea. Or perhaps trying to work in the Arcade version's start-up tune, perhaps?
Arenafoot
Or perhaps trying to work in the Arcade version's start-up tune, perhaps? Yeah that would work...........
Arenafoot
That's a good idea. Or perhaps trying to work in the Arcade version's start-up tune, perhaps? still working on this?
+atari2600land
I've been busy doing other things, but I will come back to this sometime, so don't worry.
Turbo-Torch
The new mazes are really fun and the yellow maze is downright cool looking. A few tweaks such as making the fruit follow the maze and a different start up tune would make it a real winner. Does the fruit still follow the pattern of the original Ms. Pac mazes?
+atari2600land
Yes, the fruit still follows the pattern of the original mazes. I can't figure out how to change that.
+atari2600land
I changed level 1's maze a little bit. I changed the way Pac-Man looks to Ms. Pac-Man without a bow. Next up: changing the starting tune. pacman2q.bin
triverse
Just wanted to mention that I posted an article, with video, of your game hack. I like it quite a lot, good work so far. http://retrogamingmagazine.com/2015/09/12/pac-man-2-homebrew-released-for-atari-2600/
