StephenJ
Hey everyone, Just a quick share in case anyone is interested... I own the Intellivision and Colecovision Flashbacks. Although I am satisfied with both of them, I've never liked how feather-light they are. Certainly not a big deal, so I never really planned on doing anything about it...until recently when I was replacing some old Levelor verticle blinds. I noticed that there are small weights that are sewed into the fabric at the bottom of each segment. I couldn't resist cutting out the flat pieces of metal and fitting them in the base of the Flashbacks. With a bit of Gorilla Glue, four of them (each) provides IMHO just the right amount of weight. The weights look huge in the photos but they are rather thin. The Flashbacks are still light-weights, but at least now it feels like there's something inside....and I could swear that the games play better! All the best, StephenJ
19rsn007
the games playing better is between the ears! It's like the "stick a penny on your snes mortal kombat cartridge to enable blood" april fools joke (which was really funny btw!!)
Flojomojo
Heh, that's awesome. Reminds me of how there are iron weights inside the ASUS T-100 tablet so the keyboard won't flop over when the heavy screen is attached.
Asaki
Not a terrible idea. Have you ever opened up one of those old telephone bases? Huge chunk of metal inside. IBM's Model-M keyboards are super heavy, too. They also make gamer mice that come with adjustable weights.
