samishal
Hello all, So I'm trying to get back into some Ti development however I have had to get rid of my TV. I was wondering if anyone knows if a TV tuner card would work for my PC, so that I could connec tthe TI to my PC and use my PC as a sort of monitor through the tuner card? Opry99er
Not sure about the cars, but you can get a small flatscreen that fits on top of your TI on ebay for $30 or so. You could also get the F18A, then use a splitter box to switch between your TI and PC for monitor use Edited May 27, 2015 by Opry99er
Mitkraft
Your method seems like a pretty round-about way to go. It would be dependent on finding a TV tuner card that worked in your computer AND had an NTSC tuner. Most of the ones that work in modern computers are going to be ATSC (digital). Alternatively you could also use a capture card with composite video input and either buy a composite cable for the TI or cut the cable off the RF modulator and make your own. Unless you are using an older OS you might also have trouble finding drivers for it. But if you can satisfy all those, it should work but the picture quality may not be great. I'd second the suggestion for an F18A and a VGA switcher which should be super easy to find. the F18A picture quality is a hundred times better than the quality on a TV using RF input. If for some reason a PC TV tuner solution is the best solution for you, let me know and I might be able to help you. I used to tinker tuner/capture cards a lot back in the day and may have some laying around. It would just be a matter of whether the tuner card/dongles I had worked with your system. Samishal I've used a capture card and a usb capture device to do the pc..OR there's always the f18a vga out for your TI to just connect it to the vga connector on your monitor
samishal
Cheers for the input guys, I'm in the UK if that makes a difference with the NTSC/PAL thing. Also does anyone have a link to where i can order an F18A, I can only find the project page unfortunately.

Samishal Yes, that's how I usually connect up my TI when I use it. Got a bog-standard tuner card from Novatech. However, I've got the type of PAL RF modulator that has a metal box where you can pick off a composite signal to feed to the tuner card, rather than using the aerial output.
