+atari2600land
Wave 5 added. In wave 5, the waffles follow your y position and try to get you. Fortunately, they're kind of slow, so you can (hopefully) dodge them. The website is now in my signature. +atari2600land
Would the game be better with a background instead of it being all white?
+nanochess
You would need to take in account the relative contrast of each item, otherwise everything would get confused. In the old times we used B&W tv sets, but now simply pass the image thru the B&W filter of your favorite paint program. If you don't see something, it will be hard to see even when using color. +atari2600land
OK, I guess not. I just thought a white background was bland, but I guess it has to be that way else the waffles will be hard to see.
carlsson
Perhaps you can have a discreet background, not something that looks like a 1970's wallpaper. :-)
+atari2600land
The INTV only has 16 colors. I chose the color closest to white I could find.
+atari2600land
Took out the diagonal waffle wave since I never could get it to work right. So now the layout is: wave 1 = normal wave 2 = bouncy wave 3 = circles wave 4 = following What I am planning on doing is beginning at wave 5 is make the wave type random. But I haven't done that yet. +atari2600land
I had no idea my game was causing the stack to overflow once wave 16 was reached! I think I fixed a whole lotta bugs and made the wave type random after wave 4. Edited July 23, 2017 by atari2600land
First Spear
If you take a look at games that use similar video hardware, the background is almost always black. Take a look at the original 125 games on the Inty and you will see many solid colors with "terrain add-ins" - think of Space Hawk stars, Worm Whomper plants, etc. Would the game be better with a background instead of it being all white? shot0046.gif
stealth999x
Suggestion: Why not change backrounds at different levels?
+atari2600land
Just to let you know: The Secret Government Waffle Project is still in development. In fact, I just worked on it yesterday. That is all.
