Damn that's nice.  I lost track of it a few years ago and the older 5 I had done and seemingly sometime since lost those.  It was the 2 Mario Lands, Metroid 2, Dr Mario and Kirby's Dream Land.

I mean I know I could do it, but kind of wish there was just some spot on the archive with the junk pre-patched, I'd toss the lot of them on a special directory on my everdrive folder on here (and on the ED itself too.)  They in many cases are just a nice touch, but a few really do make a world of difference like Dr Mario up there.

I got carts of Mario land and 2 dx. Love them, though they changed the Mario sprite on Mario land. I'd get more or all of them if possible, but the Mario land games were a limited release a couple years back, and while I got dx patches for other games, as of yet, I've seen no other cart releases.

Why didn't Nintendo do more dx releases bitd? I'd certainly buy, well, DID buy all they made.

Got another bootleg everdrive in the mail and this time, it's a better version and it actually has a little button that takes you to home.

Unfortunately, if I weren't lazy, I would show pics...and I really don't feel like showing pics at the moment. Just take my word for it I guess. Sorry.

I find it weird anyone is getting an everdrive with a button on it.  You got me thinking I'm missing something, went to the official everdrive page as everything has pictures and nothing for Gameboy has a button.  What kind of weird bootleg junk are you picking up?

It's what happens when you do a deep search. This one I got from Amazon has a button on it and costed me $25-30.

I did hear on Discord somewhere that the newer GB X7 Everdrives have a button on top.

But it’s not something I can confirm. I have the older squeeze model if so.

Does this image of the newer bootleg everdrive confirm it? I also have a squeeze model I got from AliExpress as a backup.

So today I bumped into a deal on a couple of GBC only style games that I really couldn't say no to, especially given what I paid for the pair.  Originally it was just going to be $5 for the first, which is Motocross Maniacs 2, but the seller wanted less as the battery wasn't tested, so I saw this F1 game I had been curious about a little I've seen rarely before and given it was battery and unknown threw it in too.  That second game is F1 World Grand Prix Racing II for GBC.   I can not annoyingly find much at all about that one, period reviews, no one ever made a guide for it on gamefaqs, nothing but some YT clips so far and a few random comments about how it's one of the best racers on the system aside from like the 2 Top Gear Pockets and V-Rally 3.

I can not quite figure out how to gain spots so far in an exhibition race, but I'm I think starting to figure out how to counter steer to not spin out if I go too fast into a turn which would help a lot.  The 3 test races I did, sucked the first two, but cam eout even or +1 (started at 10th spot) on the last try.  Visuals, audio, details for a GBC only game are on point for sure.  Motocoss Maniacs 2 from Konami also really puts a lot of good use into the color selection, details and audio on that for a little dirt bike game and it seems nice as well.  I do know that one has gone up a lot in price from a dumpster $5 title if that to something into the 20-30 range now I think which is weird so I'm pleased either way. :P

If you're curious about the F1 game anyone here play it before?  I can't find a manual scan, or as I said, a faq.

Not quite a clear answer, but its APU is described well if you want to read this and see a few basic images that isn't overly complicated.

I know that, but I figured, like how the PPU is based on Z80, that the sound chip is a mutant clone of something...like AY-3 with the third channel being replaced by a wavetable and a fourth channel being added for noise.

I saw this thing in the background of a random picture a few months ago, I'm extremely curious about it since it can play cartridges and the description said it could emulate PS1. So I'm curious to know what it is the hardware it uses.

If I understood correctly, it has a cart port for GB and GBA so it can only play original games from these handhelds, but the Piko games included are from different systems like NES and maybe PlayStation as well, so the system can probably emulate PlayStation, yes. Now it says clearly that it doesn't encourage piracy so you probably won't be able to play other games, unless it can be jailbroken of course.

This thing looks dumb as hell.  It's like some AI concept of "handheld" that just puts buttons wherever.

It's obviously some kind of emulation thing, so you might as well just hop on Aliexpress and get any of the many handhelds that can load roms.  The only "benefit" of this thing is Piko's library of "classical" licenses scraped from the bottom of the video game barrel.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the evercade core or some derivative since it's similar in type kind of to that Capcom and Taito handheld thing that had on board games from many types of gaming console/handheld hardware but can use the EC carts.  It would make sense if it used a custom core using the similar enough hardware and form factor while having some third party made GB/A cart reader in the back up top.  But the L/R buttons, if there are not another pair on the rear is so short sighted and painfully stupid.  The game list itself is all the things he owns outright, licensed, or some licensed but he finished products going back years so it's a middling list of a good number of eh... titles but some good ones in there too, so the cart reader will really save it.

I think people are focusing too much on the L and R buttons.  I get it, the placement is absolutely ridiculous.

But how about the Y, X, B, and A buttons?  How are these gonna work?  There's a reason why the SNES and PSX, etc. use a diamond configuration for those, instead of... whatever this thing is trying to accomplish.  I guess it's trying to go for Y and B as B and A from the GB/GBA... but the layout here would make any four-button games very awkward to play.

Playstation was mentioned above.  Now, I have no clue which of these z-tier games are PSX games, but I hope whatever they are they don't use L2 and R2.

Over the weekend I got three gba games and the Batman gb manual too among others that don’t apply.

star x is solid a hot take of the star fox style of look.  One of those I e fed up with did the other extreme of realism with ballistic ecks vs sever and I’m quite impressed with it.  High detail, runs at a solid pace, even has swimming in water and other unique elements too.

The other two were columns crown which is just tough, and then namco 50th which is a nice emulator(source port?) digital eclipse did that even has sideways tate mode.
