They are a pain to get in and out of the system like that. Top loader NES is much easier. Or stack 3 Game Genie and it works in toaster NES. At the time it would have been quite expensive to do either of those, and the fire left us dirt poor until the insurance paid off (this was only after the house was rebuilt, for whatever reason). It was bad times. Come to think of it, I'm not sure the toploader was even out yet. I know the snes was out. One of my pa's coworkers bought his kid one and loaned us the NES. Oddly that kid and I were in the same grade, but we didn't get along. Different worlds. Google says he sells farm insurance now. Boring.
