Oric

Does anyone know anything about the Oric-1? I think it's a European thing and didn't come out here in the states, but I would like to program a game for it. I would like the challenge of making a pretty game using only 8 colors. The Euphoric emulator doesn't seem to work on my other computer, I'll see if it works on this one.

EDIT: I found a new emulator called Oriculator which works on this computer.

I only ever used an Oric Atmos. Nice machine. The BASIC does allow reprogrammable characters from what I remember, but its been a very, very long time.

I made a couple very simple BASIC games, but I am eager to learn how to make Demo-quality pics. I bet that would require assembly, huh? Something like the pic below.

The Oric is a cool little machine. I like the Atmos better because of the keyboard.
The video is a little odd but you can do a lot with it once you understand it.
The audio hardware is similar to a single channel Apple II Mockingboard.
