The first thing you do is ask if anybody interested in attending. VGS wouldn't be hapening if Inky didn't start that one topic about getting together in chicago area(I was already working out a plan for just a local club meeting but you see what happned) then if you get enough people you start a mailing to help out with a planning. then the hard part comes: find a date,and a place to hold it. if you get all that done then you won't have a problem. Phosphor Dot Fossils Posted April 8, 2003 Share Posted April 8, 2003 As much as I'd love to organize one for my area, I've feeling that the golden rule I heard long ago regarding ownership of TV or radio stations apply here: all you need to qualify is a bucketload of a money and big hole in your head. Anybody want to give me a hand or some tips on how to get this project off the ground? sounds like a good Area to hold one! biggest thing is to rent a place to hold it! you don't want to rent something that cost to much, or you might not get enough back to make your money back. at NWCGE we hold it at a church, i think it was 150$ (one day) this year and we did not charge for tables for venders and had a donation box (2$) at the front door! each year we get just enough to cover it! and we had about 140+ people this year!
