Intymike
It's only 2 days to the 30th anniversary of the Amiga. It had it's world premiere on July the 23. 1985 at Lincoln Center, New York. Was there something similar for the Intellivision? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibJZXA_hZTU
+nanochess
I've researched a little in the G Debut: June 1979 at Consumer Electronics Show https://books.google.com.mx/books?id=mD4EAAAAMBAJ&pg=PT4&lpg=PT4&dq=intellivision+june+1979&source=bl&ots=iwf_MIE1Qt&sig=iq-wy9e4vS2arJAxvzTP2dNwPkI&hl=es-419&sa=X&ved=0CDwQ6AEwBGoVChMI0vW5oKbtxgIVDIwNCh20lgkf#v=onepage&q=intellivision%20june%201979&f=false Same article says something about a reintroduction in 1980 Consumer Electronics Show. And then there is this advertisement from June 1979 also http://blog.modernmechanix.com/intellivision-gameteacher/ Further research (a Billboard magazine) sets the CES as starting in June 3, 1979 for 4 days https://books.google.com.mx/books?id=CCQEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PT2&lpg=PT2&dq=consumer+electronics+show+june+2+1979&source=bl&ots=kWzN1W1QAk&sig=HLe9yiKsdSkI_DMwBkqKXRsORZg&hl=es-419&sa=X&ved=0CDIQ6AEwA2oVChMImab8jajtxgIVRJQNCh2DbwB_#v=onepage&q=consumer%20electronics%20show%20june%202%201979&f=false Chicago Tribune of June 9, 1979 also talks about the CES but doesn't put a date. http://archives.chicagotribune.com/1979/06/09/page/47/article/tempo So if everything is right, the Mattel Intellivision was introduced officially (and not very successfully) in June 3, 1979 I found also this video demo, apparently also from 1979: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgbaSN0rVIY

108 Stars
I wonder if there ever went any programming into the applications they showed or if it was just fantasies of what they could do.
Intymike
nanochess, thank you for your extensive research! So it is now set, the birthday of the Intellivision is June the 3rd, 1979.
+save2600
That Intellivision video was great. A few rips on Atari though... "forget the joystick forever, our disc controller makes different controllers for various games obsolete". I guess they were right, even Paddle Party foregoes the need for paddles! haha
Intellfan
Did you see the label of Space Battle in the video . Battleship Galaga Space Battle?

+Steve Jones
Considering how rare and expensive the keyboard component is, I wonder if the version in the video still exists, and if it was an actual working model or just a prototype for that video? +Lathe26
I was wondering the same thing about the Keyboard Component. The keys look like they were pulled from a manual typewriter (the Rub Out key?) and the tape drive door looks non-functional. However, it is hard to be sure. Look down the list. There is a extra list for the released Computer Component programs: http://www.intellivisionlives.com/credits.php
