Believed to be listed as supported for high score saving.

Hmm. I never got to save a game score there. Either came unplugged or I sucked too bad to enter a score.

Also with the atarivox will the older games ever go to the high score screen? Or will have to wait for the xm to ever see that. Those old carts might forget that code was ever there as the high score portion has never been used on 99.9999% of the 7800 carts in existence.:P

Hold on guys - where does it say AtariVox compatible? On the front it mentions the XM (for High Score support only). This game does not support the AtariVox. In fact, none of my games do so far. I haven't started developing for it yet.

*EDIT* - I see it now, under the 'XM' logo. :( Sorry, guys.

I just looked at the box artwork, and it is indeed on the back of the box in the bottom-right corner. I must have missed this when reviewing the box.

..Al

Great! Now you can re-release the box and those of us with the original can make millions, right? Isn't that how this works? ;)

In all seriousness, I happen to have this box and never noticed the Atarivox reference. The box art is really cool.

Thanks again for the wonderful games PMP.

;) My Scramble 7800 from PacManPlus is worth _hundreds_ more than the AtariAge labeled cart. It was a small release, extremely rare!!! Right? :dunce: /joke.

Hi,

So I recently ran into this game on emulator and it kept resetting on me. I decided to figure out why, and it turns out the reason is because of the upper RAM mirroring at $2800 that apparently doesn't exist on hardware.

(In particular, when the game is processing enemies, it overwrites display variables when this mirroring domain exists in the emulator. The particular address that causes the reset is $53.)

After removing this mirrored domain from my emulator it now runs just fine.

I hope this information is helpful to anyone in the future who is having trouble with this particular game.

For additional details, the issue respecting upper RAM mirroring (@$2800) is mentioned and address map(s) managed accordingly under the A7800 emulator (source):

...
             AM_RANGE(0x1800, 0x1fff) AM_RAM AM_SHARE("6116_1")
             AM_RANGE(0x2000, 0x27ff) AM_RAM AM_SHARE("6116_2")
// According to the official Software Guide, the RAM at 0x2000 is
// repeatedly mirrored up to 0x3fff, but this is evidently incorrect
// because the High Score Cartridge maps ROM at 0x3000-0x3fff
// Hardware tests show that only the page at 0x2700 appears at
// 0x2800, and only on some hardware (MARIA? motherboard?) revisions,
// and even then with inconsistent and unreliable results.
             AM_RANGE(0x4000, 0xffff) AM_DEVWRITE("cartslot", a78_cart_slot_device, write_40xx)
