Deep_wolf Posted October 10, 2015 Share Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) Hello everyone! Today I finally got working Atari 2600 (it's Taiwan clone called Rambo TV Game, but who cares?). My last console got messed up, I accidentally burn it down, so this is my first time with this classic videogame console. Very happy that is actually working I from Russia and down there, there was no Atari back in a day. Rambo was produced in late 80s\early 90s. Mine Rambo is from 93. As old as I am So I'm familiar with Atari 2600 mainly from AVGN videos, thanks to James Rolfe. I was wondering to get in the retro gaming for sure, so I found this Atari Rambo clone. It's not common in my place, like no one ever had it back in a day, from all people who I know. So, I got it, it's working, I'm very happy As you assume from the title of the topic, I need some help with identifying games, which are build-in in the Rambo. Of course, I figured out Donkey Kong, River Raid, Pac-Man and some simple games, but all others games and their names are gives me some hard time understanding. It's all new to me, even it's like 30-40 years old games. So with help of that Atari community, I'll wondering to get into the Atari 2600 as much as I can So, with all words are said, here is 48 games that I got. I'll put them down. Sorry for a bad quality. Later I'm gonna dig and search for manuals, to get needed knowledge for specific games! Sadly, no Space Invaders or Ms. Pac-Man, but I'll get it on carts one day. Deep Wolf, please know that some of your games' graphics may look a bit different than their original versions (Fishing and Atlants and River Raid, for example). Unfortunately I don't have the original Rambo TV Game box, on the front of the console it says 6001 games. It's a typical Chinese lie, we all know that. Fun fact is on every Rambo TV Game is typed a different number of games on the front panel. I never saw a two consoles with the same "number" of games! Also, there are my temporal setup (brought TV back home). Mine Rambo as any other is similar outside, but different inside. I revisit about 10 different models and every single one is unique at some point. On the last photo you can see the model number, as well as a console number on the panel with Stallone (which I made myself for fun) and some wood grain with cutout Atari logo The Rambo joysticks are not very good. After an hour of play the fall apart like cheap china toy (which exactly what it is). I never tried the CX-40, but it's looks like kinda it (with extra button for no reason). There are pictures of my Rambo TV Game. Check it out! Funny thing about these Rambo consoles, is creators are deliberately building an Atari 2600 clone with the same box style, front and back panel (just forgot to add the wood grain). But when you open in up, the actual motherboard is takes only 1/3 of the box, what a waste! However I'm glad they make it this way. The Atari way! Also, about games on my list. Help me with that, if someone knows about it. Today I found a few: 1. The mine Freeway has to have Rabbits, instead of Chickens. Is that a hack or a normal version of the game? 2. The mine Sky Diver hack with submarines, that ship the cargo on the air balloon down to the depth of sea, how do you call it, does it even has a name? The mine Sky Diver hack with submarines, that ship the cargo on the air balloon down to the depth of sea. 3. The Threshold somehow pops up in the list, even I don't have this game on the console. 4. The mine Casino version is a little messed up. For one thing, there is no game controls, other than "move to right" and Reset for a new game. I don't know what is type of the card game and what should I do. Of course, I can only make a "move to right", but it doesn't explain anything. Sometime it says LOSE, sometimes it says WIN. I don't know, maybe it's 21, maybe not. So, from what I understand, there are 48 games divided into two banks. First bank contain 32 games, that a basic of simple sports and shooters for 1-2 players (or should I say: "- for Left and Right player ") The second bank contain 16 games, that a most are shooters and for 1 player only. Seems like two mutlicards being mixed up together. Including 5 hacked games. Interesting. So, I don't know will cartridge slot work or no. Since I heard rumors that slot made just for a beauty and looking pleasure. Other than that, I got plenty of good and half-good games out there. Need to play with two people to see how gameplay goes. Yes, that's a Freeway hack. It was released as Rabbit Cross on several multi-game carts and as Freeway Rabbit on this cart: http://www.atarimania.com/game-32-in-1-game-cartridge_s6718.html 2.
