It took me over an hour to read it from start to finish, but was well worth it. I just gotta say that was a very dedicated effort on Vandal's part, and quite the contribution he made to this community. The daughter board is the modem. The daughter board uses a TI modem chip. Some mother boards use a 74HC942 chip instead of the daughter board. The SC-01-A speech chip is above and to the left of the modem. Hi Kyle, thanks for the explanation. So the answer is NO to being able to just duplicate a module from this and stick it into something like a 1200XL.
