Guest
Hoping someone can help identify this it was in a collection of 1050 spare parts i recently acquired. one board had ICs removed that are usually consistent with a drive upgrade and this was a "loose" addition but the pins (although thicker than those on most upgrades) do line up with the vacant slot there's no discernible markings or id of any kind. Guest
yeah. but the pins are a little too "fat" for the sockets
Bryan
Those are wire-wrap type pins and not a socket header. It'll work if you force it but the socket will be loose from then on (sounds kinda pornographic).
flashjazzcat
Urgh... Those awful socket-destroying square pins. Replace with round pins.
Mclaneinc
Whoever designed that was an evil sod, totally the wrong gear for the job, as said it will work but the brute force alone will knacker the socket. Wonder why they chose wire wrap pins rather than a traditional cheap chip socket. For me it sort of reminds me of the Lazer (happy clone) I had but its sooooooooo long ago... gozar
And why isn't there anything covering that Eprom?
+tf_hh
And why isn't there anything covering that Eprom? ... because normally such a happy clone should be built-in a 1050 and never see the sun
