+Larry
With S-video on new TV's all but gone, has anyone tried one of these converters or something similar -- either HDMI or Component Video? http://www.ebay.com/itm/AV-S-video-TO-HDMI-Component-HD-HDTV-Video-Audio-Converter-Adapter-F-PS3-TV-STB-/261603747508?hash=item3ce8cc66b4:g:s5QAAOSwRLZUIhst -Larry
+sm3
Hey Larry, well, I personally like and use the XRGB-mini Framemeister. But it's a little pricey, we are talking over $320 US. It even allows you to add scanlines I don't use it daily though since I still have working CRTs, it was mainly to use when the CRTs fail. It can even do RGB with the right connectors. Here is one on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/DP3913547-Framemeister-Micomsoft-Upscaler-Japan/dp/B00QUBK6RK/
fujidude
That is more than a "little" pricey for a video conversion. And you don't really even use it? You mainly have it for if a CRT fails? How much do you spend on chewing gum, $49.95?
ACML
Check out this thread: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/236810-inexpensive-s-video-or-composite-to-hdmi-video-up-converter/ I highly recommend the Etekcity s-video to HDMI up-converter. +Larry
Thanks for the link! Good to know that someone else has tried these successfully. And thank goodness for these various converters that have been developed to help our Atari's connectivity. -Larry
vattari
I personally use one of these with my 8bit Ataris because I'm pressed for space and LCDs take up less. See the example below. NB: the built-in speakers on the monitor connect directly to the Atari rather than splitting it out from HDMI signal again Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk
