Bill Hogue talks about it on Chris Wilikns 'The History Of US Gold' book (excellent read)...

He said it used the indentical ROM's from the A400/800 version, how he'd figured out a means of the code discovering which machine it was running on and this in turn made cartridge production a lot easier, as they only needed to order 1 set of ROM's for both versions.

Also whilst he can remember doing a tape version for US Gold, it's been so long he cannot remember if it was the A8 or C64 version.
