We have the luxury of those 'community' boxes, and the side the delivery person uses to put mail *into* the box has a larger opening than the door we get the mail *out*. We've had to tear open the end of a package's box *while the package was in the mailbox* to wriggle the contents out so we could then remove the original box in pieces. It has happened to me three times in the last two years...2 different bluray disk orders from Amazon were the worst, the box was so full there wasn't room to wiggle up and down what was inside even after cutting the box open.
