This guy has advertised for a while about 6560 chips, asking $16 + shipping:

Channelmaniac lists them at $8, but he is out of stock:

There is a seller "achai4" on eBay who has big lists of Commodore chips, but he is also out of the 6560 so apparently it is going like hot cakes. In any case, that seller used to ask $25 per chip, so the above $16 perhaps isn't that bad, assuming he still has them for sale.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I saw achai4 on Ebay. He has informed me he will check the dark corners for one on Monday, but no promises. I also might land another VIC-20 here shortly and just do a pull. It looks like typical heat got to the 6560 and I have noticed some people have mixed results with a heatsink on that IC so I may look into the heatsink and fan mod for the VIC. From what I have been reading in these forums and elsewhere the 6560 is a sensitive child. My working VIC is the older two prong power model with two video pots and the large black heatsinks. During cleaning I replaced the dried up thermal compound with IC Diamond that I had sitting around, but man, I did not realize how hot the older models got around the voltage regulator.
