I know voting isn't "over" yet, but I started a thread for a run-off vote: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/248350-intellivision-2015-game-of-the-year-runoff-voting/

Feel free to continue voting here, too, of course, to pick the overall one-vote favorite. The new thread just tries to get a first place and third place (and 5th) because the votes are so close in some cases, and I'm curious how it turns out.

I just realized that #160 was my post  If anybody changed his vote because of my post, it would be pretty sad, just build your own opinion. My opinion is: Ms. Pac Man do not deserve a title like game of the year. Piggy Bank isnt just a game, its also a message and so its much more special than Ms Pac Man. Unfortunately people do not get the message behind Piggy Bank, but I am pretty sure I do and so it definitely would deserve the GotY Award in my opinion.

Oh and what the hell is that? Counter-Voting? Sorry, but for me the new Thread is completely useless. The winner of THIS Voting here is the GotY.

But to be honest: the whole voting has huge problems. Anonymous voting isnt the real deal. No one can control who voted and so no one can be aware of fake accounts to push the voting. I would like to see the participants and what they voted next time to prevent cheating.

This thread is perfectly fine, and I have no problem with it being the unofficial official GotY poll. That said, there's some advantage to digging a little bit deeper, to see what games people prefer. Especially with some games being pretty much tied, I'm curious which of 1&2, 3&4, and the others people are enjoying and playing. With the 2 or 4 obviously great games, which of the remainder do people like. Perhaps it's no use to some, but personally it will tell me something. I think I'm more curious about the ones that are in 5th place and beyond.

My only problem and why i think wee need two votes next year is i would rank a game thats losing higher than its ranked in even the second poll. Some games are losing positions because of the one vote rule. To give all games a voting chance and not look like they were just a pile of crap we need to be able to vote twice. Flapee bird would have gotten my second vote so it would have a higher rank. 30 people may vote for piggy and 30 may vote for ms pacman, but 15 from each may think copter command was better than the other winning game that they didnt vote for. So for example if you place 2 vote it could be 3 games fighting for first place but it would be a much fairer vote cause not everyone that voted for piggy thinks that ms pacman should be in second place and vice versa.

More than one vote? This is beginning to sound like the "Everyone Gets a Trophy" type of competition. Never agreed with everyone gets a trophy, it is part of what is wrong in the world today.

There is one winner. Even second place is a loser.

I like this idea. I too am curious just for interests sake. No harm in it.

I think there's merit in a 5-3-1 voting system. It would likely lead to an even more competitive vote. Many sports awards like MVP's etc use these.

I think this thread needs a 12 Step group. :D

If you answer yes to 3 or more of these questions you have a problem with the Intellivision.

Do you avoid family or close friends while you are playing Intellivision?

Do you play Intellivision a lot when you are under pressure.

Do you play Intellivision to escape your problems.

Do you play more Intellivision now than when you first joined the Intellivision Brotherhood.

Do you sometimes feel uncomfortable if the Intellivision is not available?

Do you sometimes feel a little guilty about your Intellivision playing?

Has a family member or close friend expressed concern or complained about your Intellivision playing?

Have you even been in trouble with your family for playing Intellivision?

Have you ever spent more money than you could afford on the Intellivision?

Have you tried switching consoles, or play different games to control your Intellivision use?

Have you sometimes failed to keep promises you made to yourself about controlling or cutting back on your Intellivision?

Have you ever avoided work to play the Intellivision?

Do you sometimes play Intellivision for several days in a row?

Have any of your blood relatives ever had a problem with Intellivision?

I think it would lead to skewed results because people get bored having to vote again and again for their game of choice. The more hoops you make people jump through the less interested they are in completing the task to the end.

Oh I didn't mean voting on three occasions, like in a run off scenario, just vote for 1st, 2nd and 3rd with 5 points, 3 points and 1 point assigned to their votes.
