high voltage
The very rare Pondering about Max's is on ebay.de, seller thinks it's a C64 game (I messaged him that it's an A8 game). http://www.ebay.de/itm/P-A-M-PONDERING-ABOUT-MAXS-Commodore-64-C64-DISK-BOXED-COLLECTIBLE-english/252235462500?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140117125630%26meid%3D6608f501033a43cdaab3829fe0b29528%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D252240192001 No need to say it's a super rare game (9 on Atarimania). Good luck. Edited January 11, 2016 by high voltage
Rybags
Never heard of it... that packaging reminds me of the heavy duty boxes and folders you used to get with some IBM software.
José Pereira
What a crazy price!... Here's for free: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-pondering-about-max-s_499.html

Mclaneinc
I'd seen the Bar room Brawl part before but not The Dream, I'm at a loss of what to do on the first screen, all I seem to be able to do is jump right, climb a ladder, avoid the critter and jump on the pumpy bouncy thing but nothing happens, the box? on the bottom left does nothing... Any one?
Fred_M
I have it in my collection. I reviewed it for Pokey's Magazine. 620 euros is crazy! I really don't believe the ratings on Atarimania. I recently bought Alphabet factory for $ 9.99 on Ebay and Microsubtraction on tape for € 10 on Ebay. Both have rarity 9 on Atarimania..... @Maclaneinc: I will try to post the manual of Pondering about Max's tomorrow Edited January 11, 2016 by Fred_M
Tempest
Rare doesn't always mean valuable. There are lots of rare educational games that are practically worthless.

+therealbountybob
Thanks for posting this, especially FRED_M's info above I asked about P.A.M. a while ago when we played it in the HSC (you can read about it being the hardest game ever here HSC:S9R7). Despite our best efforts we only managed to figure out a few screens. I regret not buying it at the time (and not just for the £value!). The brawl part wasn't so great but the two platform parts are nice; perhaps now someone can beat another screen or two Edited January 13, 2016 by therealbountybob
Mclaneinc
Still not had a chance to play more but its got something about it that makes me want to play it, sadly if it IS that hard then its also going to frustrate the hell out of me and I'll most likely drop it like a hot potato and seeing as you guys who play all the time found it hard then I'm going to be well stumped Shame, I like the look of it... At the time, I played flat out and did manage 4 screens but that was with no clues/ingfo whatsoever; the skill was working out what to do more than arcade reactions. I'm sure the instructions/clues in the packaging will help - I suspect this was their way of making it less piratable There must be someone here who bought the game at the time and played it, would be nice to hear what they thought of the game. Was there a record with it? Would be nice to have a PDF of all the instructions/artwork
Mclaneinc
Got a little further in the Dream game, managed to bounce off the invisible wall at the right so the spring worked, did the first switch which let the balls hit the parcel and let the other type of walking spring monster out, got down and used the spring monster to get to the second switch but keep dying. I presume the new spring monster must be jumped on at the right time to get to the middle platform next to the balls with I also presume will allow me to spread them and the new head thing at the bottom to shoot a ball up to kill the bird thing that was throwing the balls around in the first place.. /phew That's what I suspect from where I got to.....Dunno if I'm right.... +MrFish
I remember when I first saw this game back in 2005. Interesting/unique looking game, with some nice looking game screens. I tried playing it some, but never could figure out what to do. With the information here, I'll have to give it another go. Here's some of the game screens that preview if you leave the game sit at the title for the various sections of the game -- just to add to the thread a little: P.A.M. Mclaneinc
The springs are annoying and stump at first, you cannot stand in front of them and use them properly, they need to be jumped on from the side using the normal space a side jump takes, the first spring in the Dream game is the annoying starter, you must move right on its platform to where the invisible wall stops you and jump in the direction of the invisible wall, that creates the space for you to land on the spring and jump up to the plat form. The second spring needs you to go right to the platforms edge and jump left on to the spring. When you activate a switch by standing in front and pushing up look around the rest of the screen to see what has changed, sometimes you don't notice at first. This game is going to be TOUGH.... Mclaneinc
And just to add, on dreams first screen you get what I call the Super Metroid powerup dude (any fans of Super Metroid might spot the similar look of the powerup dude that walks through the walls in Super Metroid with the spring creature that comes out of the 'present' on the bottom of the first screen in Dreams..Ok, only me then) Be careful of these, make sure you jump properly on top of them because if you hit them below the platform they hold up to spring on then you die...
