cncfreak
Didn't see a topic on this and wanted to see what everyone's opinion was. Unfortunately it's digital only so you would have to re-buy games in the Playstation Store. For me I completely missed this when it first came out in early December but once I saw one of the my top 5 games of all time was up, I had to bite. Positives: Upscale to 1080p - I think the games look great. Trophy support - I am seriously hooked on Trophies and Achievements. Negatives: Digital Only - Yep you have to buy the games off the Playstation Store. Only a few games are up - Hopefully as time goes by, more will be added. The game in question of course was Dark Cloud 2. Seriously love this game. Also two other Level 5 games are up as well (Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2 and Rogue Galaxy) Each game is $14.99 and for Dark Cloud 2, that's not too bad as a loose copy runs $30 - $35 dollars. For now I will buy one at a time and once I complete it, I'll pick up another. I'm probably going to do a Youtube video on the topic once I get the chance. Please let me know what you think. Tempest
I made sure to pick up every PS2 game I wanted (mostly RPGs) back when Gamestop of clearing them out so I'm all set (having a Fat PS2 with a HD also helps on the few I'm missing). It's nice that they're doing this, but I'm not rebuying PS2 games at $15 a pop.

I'm only going to buy a few but specifically the Dark Cloud games to hopefully show there is still some interest in the series. Someday I hope they release Dark Cloud 3. cimerians
I didn't own Dark Cloud so I bought that and was really impressed by the quality so yeah I'm on board for some more of them (when they are on sale). I have a modest list of games I'll be watching out for, which I want for the achievements etc. Onimusha series: I will definitely buy Onimusha 3 and maybe a Suikoden game. Shadow Hearts is another one I'll be looking for. Would be awesome to see some of the Arcade collections like Taito 1 and Taito 2 with achievements. The thing is, I doubt we'll ever see a lot of games so I'm not hoping too much to ever see Shadow Hearts, Persona or any other obscure titles. As Tempest said the vast majority of games I already have and they are all dumped on my PS2 hardrive.
Tempest
The problem with a lot of the those expensive cult classic PS2 games is that the rights aren't held by major companies or are a mess. I'm guessing most of the PS2 releases are going to be popular mainstream games with an oddball title here and there. I might be surprised, but that's how it went for the PSX releases on the PS3 (and Nintendo releases on the Wii for that matter). BTW is Dark Cloud 2 really that expensive now? I snagged it for $18 at Gamestop a year or two ago. The original was pretty cheap too ($8 or something like that).
RARusk
I'm impressed with the emulation so far. All I've noticed during my current GTA: San Andreas playthrough is some stuttering here and there and when there is a lot going on at once. I don't plan to buy a whole lot of titles but I will get the ones that I have written guides for - I already have GTA 3, and GTA: Vice City in addition to San Andreas. I'm waiting for GTA: Liberty City Stories, GTA: Vice City Stories, Bully, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, Hitman: Blood Money, and Rumble Roses. Yes! on the Arcade Collections (Taito and Capcom) and of course some of the obscure RPGs and Survival Horror games.
Mord
If I ever step up to the ps4 (it has nothing going for it for me so far) I wouldn't touch ps2 re-releases at 15 bucks each. I'd do it the same way I do it on the PS3. When a flash sale drops it under 5 bucks, I start considering. Not before.

Times flying, four more years and the PS2 is 20 years old.
Flojomojo
I bought the PS2 Star Wars games on PS4 (pity they weren't cross-buy with the PS3 versions) and it's really amazing how far we've come. I needed the time warp on the same system to see the differences.
