cimerians
Nice: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2010925172/overload-the-ultimate-six-degree-of-freedom-shoote Its great to see these guys moving forward with a "Descent" game on consoles and with single player in mind. The other one....Descent Underground by Descendent Studios is still in early access and still only multiplayer and only on PC. I think they did a pretty good job with it but it sucks its only muliplayer. They did promise single player campaigns but I'm not really holding my breath.
MotoRacer
Finally. Finally, devs are starting to realize there's a market for smaller games like this that follow formulas that were popular back in the 90s. Can you charge $60 for a game like this? Nope. But devs need to learn that not everything needs to cost $60, and that you can make a crap ton of money from a fun game that's cheaper, that goes after a neglected market. Heck ,just look at what Rocket League has been able to do. My only concern is, I've been burned with the last 4 projects I've backed on Kickstarter. I don't mind people asking for funds, but I thought I'd be safe with mighty no 9, and I thought I'd be safe with Shenmue... both are just biting me in the ass. I'll have to think about this one. I get where you're coming from on Mighty No 9 (I'm a backer, too), but what's wrong with Shenmue?
MotoRacer
I decided to back it. But they need some help. I just don't think they have any press. I know a ton of people would want a new Descent. (in reply to the last guy: Shenmue has had a lot of problems. There are tons of articles about it. It's not as bad as Mighty, but they didn't do things right. Especially hiding the fact they had a publisher with money coming in before they took everyone's Kickstarter money, making it seem like that was the only way to get it funded.) I know friends that want another Descent too.....too bad most people got sucked over to Descent Underground which isn't bad but its multiplayer only ATM. What I really wanted was a single player sequel so I backed this one right away, pretty much when they revealed who they were.

Unfortunately this is what happens when the original team loses the license to the name. Most gamers aren't going to be smart enough to recognize that this is the rightful sequel, simply because it's not called Descent. I'm hoping they make the game regardless of it being funded or not.
cimerians
There's a free (beta?) build on Steam to play: http://store.steampowered.com/app/450220/
+FujiSkunk
The Descent series were pretty much the only first-person shooters I ever really enjoyed. I'm in. I watched the promo video last night, and I commented to my roommate that, except for better shadow and smoke effects, it looked a lot like Descent 3. That's not a shot against Overload but more of a compliment to D3. I always thought that game's graphics held up exceptionally well over the years.
