GameGirl420
I know this has been done before, but lately I've been really loving the soundtrack for Castlevania 2. It just kicks ass on so many levels. I really love the song that plays during the daytime.. What's your fave NES songs?

BillyHW
Almost everything on Mega Man 2. Double Dragon, the theme.
Trebor
Double Dragon, the theme. One of my greatest NES gaming moments is when that theme drops right after you go through the corridor entering the last area of the game. It builds up to the climatic end excellently. My vote for favorite NES song is practically anything from Rygar. The game's soundtrack is awesome.
BillyHW
Love the intro to Gauntlet too.
NoelleAmelie
. Also, even though this isn't from a game and was done in Famitracker (which is 100% faithful to real hardware limitations), this cover of Truth from Thunder Force 3 is amazing. BassGuitari
Castlevania II, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Journey To Silius had particularly excellent music.

Clint Thompson
There's a later level in Ninja Gaiden (train level? my memory is fail) but I just remember being absolutely thrown by this music and loved it. Remember hoping somehow that the music would have transferred over to the Lynx version but that obviously didn't happen.
DuggerVideoGames
Hmm. I never really gave much thought to this idea, but the moon theme in DuckTales immediately comes to mind. I hear if you play the moon theme backwards, you hear Scrooge's voice saying, "I own Gizmo Duck."

The stage is like in a mine with mine carts and tracks that resemble train tracks so you remember it as a train level.
DuggerVideoGames
I always liked the music in the cut scenes in Ninja Gaiden; makes you feel like you were watching a movie.
retrorussell
The Castlevania ones are all good; yeah, the daytime one in the town (CV2) is one of my favorite ones. Several Mega Man and Mega Man 2 ones are fantastic. Crash Man's stage may be my favorite. Most of River City Ransom's music is awesome. The NES Double Dragon music is so hummable/whistleable. I actually have a Technos building within a mile of where I live (not entirely sure what they make there but it's clearly the Technos we know and love, I recognize the font). I whistle the music as I walk by.

Maybe this isn't it, I don't remember and after going through all the music of game I couldn't find anything that stuck out "damn I remember this, it's awesome" just left with feeling my music tastes have changed so dramatically that I no longer like it anymore. Maybe you're remembering something from "Ninja Gaiden II." The sequel actually has a stage on a moving train.
gauauu
Ninja Gaiden, both the song while you fight your father near the end, or the song during the intro while Ryu reads the letter. Both are so stinking awesome.

Eltigro
The beeping in 1942! Just kidding of course. lol Castlevania. Just about every tune is great. TMNT title screen "attract mode" music. Jackal title screen music. (Don't judge!)
DuggerVideoGames
The entire Guerrilla War game. Even the intro as you start level 1.
