Omega-TI
Thanks for that. There goes another one of your prototype boards Excellent! Maybe we're a tad closer to that DDCC-1 clone now!
ckoba
All of the boards I designed to replace the stacked chips have finally passed my QA tests and are in production on my HRD+. A zipfile containing schematics and board files for all three stacks ('138, '154, '259) in Eagle format is at https://www.disavowed.jp/ti/HRD+_Boards.zip Note: these boards use SMD ICs. They're an easy solder, though, even with shaky hands. I had to put an extra socket between the 154 and 138 boards and the HRD+ to have clearance over the other chips. Hopefully this will help bring dead HRD+ units back to life.
