Vaughan
Hey all. Apologies for posting here and then linking elsewhere, but I wanted to see if anyone here had an opinion. I have a thread HERE at Mameworld. Essentially, Atari 2600 emulation under Mame allows the use of Bezels. So I'm trying to see if there is any interest in having Bezels created for 2600 titles, or if this is the worst idea ever. There is a ZIP file over at Mameworld containing a Mock Up for people to test - so if you want you can grab that. Thanks all! ps: Stella is still the best! MrMaddog
Well...I was thinking how nice it would be to have a bezel shows the console switches (Select,Reset,Difficulty...) with the apporiate keypresses to use. And for games that use keypad overlays, they can be put on the sides of the screen. Or just have a pic of an old TV which would fit in with MAME's CRT filter
SuperCool
Sounds like a cool idea. I'll check out that file on MAMEWorld you mentioned.
+SpiceWare
Well...I was thinking how nice it would be to have a bezel shows the console switches (Select,Reset,Difficulty...) with the apporiate keypresses to use. Even after all these years, I'm still partial to how I ported Stella to OS/2 with clickable buttons in the toolbar and "plugged in controllers" in the status bar so you knew if you needed to use joystick/cursor keys or mouse (for paddle games). Click to animate: The stack of cartridges = power, click to select another game. TV Type, Left Diff and Right Diff all show current state, click to toggle them Click on Select and Reset to trigger those console switches. The buttons after that are: Options - configure controller, volume, etc. Game help - show text file matching current game (adventure.txt would be opened if you're playing adventure) Stella Help - show the standard help file for Stella
