mbd30
Admittedly I had to grab one health refill on the last screen before the final bosses. Otherwise it is entirely sword-only with no items. I used a phone to record my bedroom CRT and there is occasional annoying flicker for some reason.

Great Hierophant
Even though I can beat NG without cheats, I learned something from that video. Of course, under normal circumstances, the final two bosses are always sword only. If you beat the Masked Devil, any weapon you have will disappear when you face Jaquio. If you lose to Jaquio and are booted back to 6-1, then when you reach Jaquio again you can use a subweapon, but your health will not be refilled. The same thing happens if you lose to Jashin the demon. Typically is is better to fight the final bosses with full life than a subweapon and half life, unless you have kept the Jump & Slash attack. That subweapon breaks the bosses.

" I remember when I beat the game for the first time and I spent ages dying over and over again trying to keep the jump slash for the Jaquio fight and then finally doing it. That first triumph against Jaquio feels so good. The clones in "Ninja Gaiden II" are about as broken against bosses as the jump & slash in the first game. Clones and a lot of ninpo can destroy a boss in a few seconds. "Ninja Gaiden III" is the most balanced of the three. There is no broken method for quick kills against bosses. Fortunately none of the bosses are that difficult at all... not even the final bosses once you know their patterns.
Great Hierophant
You fought Jaquio using the left wall, I prefer using the right. The middle column is not in the middle and I don't like getting to close when directly underneath him. It is far better to get hit by the fireballs than his body.
