Weird that they made two different PCB layouts.

I suppose it's because they used different EEPROM chips, with with the two stickers on the second card, it's hard to tell for sure.

I guess that at the time it was cheaper somehow to get EEPROMs locally rather than ordering them directly from Japan?

Or maybe Magnavox had a deal with one provider in the US and Philips had one with NEC.

As a rememinder, European carts were made in France, as well as the machines themselves. I suppose the American ones were made in the US?
