+eebuckeye
I have a C64 that the colors do not seem correct. I adjusted the variable resistor to max and the color barely changes. What chip is the likely culprit? Thanks!
R.Cade
Attach pictures... most likely it's the VIC-II or possibly the RF modulator (even if you aren't using RF, it still passes through it) but I haven't seen that problem before in 100's of them. That adjustment is not to change the colors, just the color subcarrier frequency. The colors are embedded in the VIC-II itself and can't be adjusted. +eebuckeye
Well I realized that the video cable I was using has 8 pins (at least more than 5) so I assume it is a special Commodore cable for a better picture! I plugged in a standard 5 pin video cable and the colors are perfect.. :-) Ugh... I guess the only way to use the Commodore video cables are with a Commodore monitor? tjlazer
Yeah those cables are for a monitor that has chroma and Luma inputs
carlsson
You could build an adapter that combines the Chroma and Luma plugs into four pin mini-DIN S-Video if you got one of those inputs.
