My machine is pretty close to mint, but I was wondering about the color of the plastic body: What color should it be? Is it supposed to be grey-ish white? Is it grey-ish beige? It starts off grey and usually ends up beige/yellow/brown depending on where it was stored. The keyboards likewise start off very pale grey and often end up mustard yellow. It took on a the vaguest olive tone which I didn't at all mind, so I gave it one light Retr0Brite treatment and left it at that. If after thirty years discolouration is tolerable and - most importantly - not getting any worse, it's often best to leave it alone. Artificial light (especially fluorescent bulbs) produces the UV rays that accelerate yellowing. Some (poorly mixed) plastics turned yellow just from exposure to air. For example, these Nintendo consoles contain case parts made from different batches of plastic: http://i.imgur.com/MQEesl1.jpg The problem with bad plastic batches is you don't find out about it until much later unless you specifically test for it.
