+therealbountybob
The next High Score Club round starting tomorrow may be themed "ports from other systems". I know we have games from the 5200, 2600, BBC, Spectrum, Apple, PET, and now C64, but are there any others?
Rybags
I did Spectipede and Quadrillion from Plus/4. Quadrillion is VBXE only though. There might be more, it's a similarly configured system to Atari except no sprites so porting games isn't too hard. I seem to remember also, wasn't there some ZX81 stuff done by line by line Z80 to 6502 conversion? Also arcade (Asteroids). And Oric-1 though I'm not sure if there's been any released but at least some in progress. It's also 6502 but the graphics are done somewhat differently. oracle_jedi
Parsec XL was ported from the TI-99/4A. Gridrunner and Metagalactic LLamas were ported from the VIC-20. Blacklamp first appeared on the ST I believe.
José Pereira
Black Lamp on A8 was coded by Ivan Mackintosh with graphics and music by Richard Munns for Slough's Atari U.K. release on a full type tape priced at 057,95. All from scratch including the inside of the package nice storyteller and instruction small book and only thing is that it was an authorized version by Firebird that did/release the ST and all the other versions (please saw the C64 version gfxs and sprites to see what A8 guys together with a POKEY song masterpiece did and that put others to shame ). The A8 version is a piece of art and outstanding code, music, in all. There's some nice code and ways to get a nice and colourfull game in charmode Antic4 mode, multicolour PMGs,... Had Atari U.K. got more licenses and invite Ivan Mackintosh & Richard Munns team but also a Chris Paul Murray and/or Archer McLean and what great and looking games we could had . +therealbountybob
OK I've put the High Score Club round on - "Ports and New" yes I need to work on the title! It's a 4 Week Tournament and I've gone for one game from each system - if anyone wants to play they would be welcome. Play as many or few games as you want to. There are some great games to try out. D we have anything from the Amstrad? If anyone finds any other systems we have games for I'll add them in

Forgot that when posting with the phone some symbols don't show and have to edit so that they can entry. Of course that the price isn't that but £7,95. Lost Dragon
From what little i know of the Amstrad CPC, the machine itself was more often than not home to ports (from the ZX Spectrum) rather than version other ports were based on, so i'd be surprised to hear of any commercial games coming to A8 from the CPC. Rybags
CPC did get numerous Spectrum ports, usually to complaints as it's a much more capable machine re colours and resolution. It's configuration isn't greatly similar to other machines plus it was a late entrant to the 8-bit market.Graphically it's probably closest to the BBC (both use Motorola 6845) although has a much better palette. Also very similar to BBC with its OS and Basic feature set.Sound is by the AY-3-8910, same as BBC, Spectrum and Oric-1, and functionally equivalent to the Yamaha sound chip used on ST. Since it's a Z80 machine, that distances it greatly from the BBC. Edited April 28, 2016 by Rybags
