As an aside, many many many moons ago I wrote a Trojan horse that loads a little program into the 1541 and 1571. The program formats track 36 then moves track 18 (directory) to 36, leaving a blank directory in its wake. It does this to every disk that is "greeted" by the drive (at disk change.)
