NIAD
It's not my auction and I'll probably not be bidding as I have one already, although still considering if the price doesn't get out of hand. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 162065689489
+GoldLeader
That is really Sweet! My friend and I ordered our Colecos BITD when they first came out. He ordered his from a mail order Company and ended up getting it about a month before they were in stores, so I followed his lead...However they hit stores 2 days before I got mine. This was back when things inexplicably took "4-6 weeks" to be delivered. Upon comparing our systems, his controllers were different. They were like the ones in this auction. Unless I'm mistaken, if you look at the side of the fire buttons, they are smooth and not "ribbed" (for our pleasure haha)...
masschamber
I think I like that box more than the regular, though that might just be because it isn't the normal color
7800fan
327 is a very low number as well. It's out of my range anyway (oh about $1,000 over my limit right now)
+save2600
Sure wish people took better care of their boxes! Have seen way too many junky Colecovision system boxes than any other in my time. And something as special as this, of course it has to be all buggered up.
NIAD
The thing about this purple box is that only people who worked for Coleco got them and their is no way to know just how many were produced before Coleco switched to the grey background box. I have #162, an anonymous collector has one which i forget the # right now but think it's in the 200s and then there is this one up for auction. So after all these years, only 3 have surfaced..... much rarer than say Air Raid for the 2600 or Nintendo World Championships (both cart shell variations).
glazball
Incredible, thanks for sharing this! Way outta my league as well, but sure is nice to drool over. Seller seems like a good guy too. Love this line: "Will be packed for war and shipped promptly." ha!
