I finally no-deathed NES Ninja Gaiden 2

Recommended Posts

It's something that I've been trying to do for awhile, after being able to beat the first one without dying. So many enemies and so many ways of getting knocked into a pit. It will be some time before I want to play this again.

The shadow clones are a big help on the boss fights. The game would be that much tougher without them.

Congrats! Pits are more dangerous in this game than the others because of the knockback (it's the largest of the three). There are a lot of chances to make a mistake and find yourself losing a life or two by accident.

I'd say that the first Ninja Gaiden doesn't get dangerous for a good player until late in the game... act 5 or 6. Ninja Gaiden 2 gets tougher earlier with the knockback, at least by act 3-2, and doesn't let up much until the end. It's not too difficult to beat the game without continuing, but to do it with no deaths is hard. I forced myself to restart after every stupid death until I could do it.

Now I'm gonna try to no-death the third game. The best I've done is beat it with one death because of the timer on the final act.

Come to think of it, I don't even know if I've ever finished the third without dying. It's not a goal I generally try aiming for, usually a 1CC is good enough and I'll naturally get a no-death through subsequent plays. I will have to try it sometime.
